Obsidian is a smooth amorphous volcanic glass formed by the rapid cooling of molten lava. During the Stone Age this material was one of the first targets of organized “mining,” and it’s likely that all natural Obsidian outcrops known today were discovered and utilized by ancient people. A rarity in garden settings and exclusively for the bold.
